Pumping up the Tires: defined
Getting ready for a long bike ride requires air. Tires full of air enable efficiency. Pumping is preparation. Thinking, using words and writing enables expression, inspiration and creates some sort of record. It is work but it is preparation for a life of growth and communication and it becomes a record of that history.
Product of Conception: defined
I am a product of my parents' conception. And I consider my son the conception of God. He thought of it, He allowed for it, He coordinated it, He executed it, He nurtured it and He has His hand on my son always. But I first heard the phrase "product of conception" in an abortion clinic.
I met a woman one morning. We could have met in a grocery store, a church, in class or a coffee shop. I met her this morning only because she was in this clinic and needed medical service. The fetus growing inside her was to be removed from the uterine wall and eventually placed in a dumpster. You can read about this day here. With the nurse, we indentified each of the product of conception's anatomy. It took us some time because the pieces were not connected, but the nurse helped me identify each part before we placed the conglomerate into the biohazard bin. That is the last of the product of conception I saw and the last of the woman I saw. I love you both.
